In caregiving, language plays a vital role in building understanding and trust. Indonesian caregiver Dursilawati has been applying Mandarin learned through the Care Mandarin program at 101Teaching to real-life caregiving situations, enhancing both communication and care quality for elderly recipients.
In the past, limited language skills meant that much of her caregiving relied on gestures and brief responses. Through her learning at 101Teaching, Dursilawati gradually began using Mandarin to explain daily routines, respond to needs, and engage more actively with those under her care.
“Now I can explain what I am going to do in Mandarin and understand the responses from the elderly. It has helped us feel closer and more connected,” Dursilawati shared.
For her, Mandarin is not merely a communication tool but a bridge for building trust. When care recipients feel understood, caregiving relationships become more stable and reassuring.
Dursilawati’s story reflects 101Teaching’s core mission—to empower caregivers with practical Mandarin skills that strengthen care quality and human connection.
